Adult Education Graduation
If you successfully complete your GED exam by March 30, you will be eligible to participate in Butler's graduation ceremony in May. There is a small fee for the cap, gown, and diploma cover. Many student choose to attend Graduation as this may be the first time they are honored for their academic achievements.
This year, 2012, we had 13 people who chose to participate in Butler's graduation. These individuals earned their Kansas State High School Diploma. Afterward we held a short celebration in the Kansas Room and several graduates and their families attended. We really LOVE to honor our graduates!
Student Success Celebration
Student Success Celebration has a fantastic turnout!
This year’s Student Success Celebration, held on April 14, 2012, was a fantastic event honoring those individuals who have completed the Kansas WorkReady! certificate and those who were inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS). Twenty-six (26) students achieved their WorkReady! certificate and twelve (12) students were inducted into NAEHS.
The ceremony was a fine tribute to the dedicated students enrolled in Butler Community College Adult Education. These are individuals whose performance far exceeded the status quo. These honorees put in time and effort above and beyond the normal requirements in order to excel in their achievements.
The ceremony was also attended by many family members and friends of the honorees. Dr. Gene George, Interim Dean of Career and Technical Education, and Bill Rinkenbaugh, Dean of Student Services, were in attendance, as well as Mary Moon, Executive Director of Adult and Professional Continuing Ed, and Pat Cummings, Administrative Assistant to Mary Moon.
Several very proud Adult Education staff members were there to present and honor the learners.
This celebration recognizes you when you complete the Kansas WORKReady! Certificate by successfully passing the WorkKeys test and/or you are accepted for induction into the National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS) http://www.naehs.org/
It is an honor when you are nominated and requires that you meet strict criteria for acceptance.
