Chris Mullinix has been a part of the Butler Faculty since the fall of 1997. He is a full time agriculture instructor with the responsibility of coaching our nationally recognized livestock judging team. Chris is a 1996 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Animal Science & Industry. At K-State Chris was a member of the 1995 National Champion Livestock Judging Team. Individually he was named the High Individual at the National Contest and set a new contest record for Oral Reasons that stood for over a decade, until it was surpassed in 2007 by two young people including one of his own former students from here at Butler!  To date, Chris has judged shows in over 30 different states and still stays heavily involved in his family Hereford cattle operation.

During Chris' tenure as coach his teams have consistently ranked amongst the nation's elite. The team typically competes in twelve to fifteen contests annually. Remarkably, the team has ranked amongst the top 10 in every one of those competitions under Coach Mullinix. Along the way they have compiled an amazing record with over twenty National Championship victories at the most prestigious contests in the country. Those wins include the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, KY, the Southwestern Expo & Livestock Show in Fort Worth, TX, the National Western Stock Show in Denver, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Houston, TX and the American Royal in Kansas City just to name a few.
