Composite Engineering Technology

Learn to work with advanced materials and build a high-flying career.

The use of composites in modern manufacturing is a technology that was largely perfected in Wichita’s aerospace industry. Aviation companies continue to make extensive use of composites today, so there are typically plenty of job opportunities right here in the area.

But working with composites requires a special expertise. In the Composite Engineering program, you can earn either an associate degree or a one-year certification. We also offer a 16 credit-hour certification that will qualify you as a Composite Technician.

Our curriculum gives you in-depth exposure to the characteristics of composite materials, lay up and bonding processes and techniques, as well as CATIA design and composite parts repair. You’ll learn how to apply the skills we teach you in a diverse range of industries from medical device manufacturing to wind energy.
