If you love working with young children, Butler has several educational options that will help you make your career-oriented dreams come true in Early Childhood Education. Earn an Associate in Applied Science, a certificate in Early Childhood Education, or complete course work for a CDA and the Kansas Apprenticeship Program. Help develop future leaders for tomorrow! The Butler Early Childhood Education Program has the reputation as one of the finest training programs in the state. It is linked directly to the EduCare Center, an educationally based lab school on the El Dorado campus, licensed for 121 children from 2 weeks to 12 years of age. The center recently earned a top five star-rating through Kansas Quality Rating System for the second year in a row. It is also nationally accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Early Childhood students receive exemplary training at this site.
Butler’s Early Childhood Education program trains traditional students and students currently working in area centers, but wishing to become more highly qualified for jobs with young children. Classes are offered daytime and evening in El Dorado, Andover and several locations in Wichita area.
Students are prepared to teach/or direct childcare centers or to transfer to a four-year institution.
