Use Working Model to model a can crusher.
You may use metric or American units.

You cannot model the can crusher perfectly; you will have to make some simplifications.

Assume the force on the handle is perpendicular to it. Ignore the weights of the components.

Force Tool

To keep the force perpendicular to the handle, select the force vector with your mouse and check the rotate with body box in window | properties.

Join the slot and point (round or square) using the shift key to select more than one item.

When parts overlap in working model bad things happen.
To avoid this, pick the colliding parts with the shift key.
Then object | do not collide

To measure the crushing force:
Hold down the shift key and select the two bodies that will make contact.
Then measure | contact force

1. Find the ratio of output force to input force on the can. For example, if you input 10 lbs and get 90 pounds out the ratio is 90:10 or 9:1. Include this information in your email to which you attach the model.
