In addition to teaching for BCC, he taught for seven years (1993-2000) at the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama, and taught English for two years in Durango, Mexico, from 1985-1987. His teaching interests are in the teaching of writing, American literature and the other arts. He is the proud father of two daughters.
