Butler's magazine is published quarterly. The Grizzly sequence focuses on all aspects of magazine publishing --estimating costs, budgeting, layout/design, writing, photography and management. Many former staff members have gone on to four-year universities -- the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, Wichita State University and Emporia State University -- where they assumed leadership roles as editors in paid and scholarship positions.

Activity scholarships which cover tuition (equivalent to that paid by Kansas residents) and books are available each semester for staff of The Grizzly. Students need not major in Mass Communications.
