Travel and Tourism

Travel and tourism has grown to be the largest industry in the world. A World Travel and Tourism Council study forecasts that the world travel and tourism industry employs more than 225 million people and represent about 12 percent of the world gross national product.
The travel and tourism specialization is designed to prepare graduates to be travel agents or assume management positions with convention and visitors bureaus, hotel sales departments, convention and conference centers, state and local tourism promotions agencies, tour wholesalers, travel agencies, incentive travel companies, corporate travel offices, cruise ships, airlines, theme parks and resorts. Some of these opportunities will need additional background courses in hotel and restaurant management.
