For bioscience/biomedicine majors, we highly recommend taking some (if not all) of the courses for the certificate program. It is rare to have this kind of training available for undergraduate students majoring in Biology. This training will help students be more appealing for: entrance into competitive programs, scholarships, fellowships, internships, and part/full-time laboratory work as they pursue advanced training.
Acceptance requirements may include: a minimum of Basic Chemistry (college), Microbiology, AND at least one of the following college biology lab courses: (General Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Cell Biology, or Molecular Genetics, OR approval of other credentials by the MATC Director of Bioscience. Candidates with an associate/bachelor degree may be preferentially accepted.
