About Foreign Language

When you learn another language, opportunity doesn’t just knock. It talks.

As technological advances continue to shrink our global village, the need to communicate in more than one language will only grow.  Yet only about 20% of the U.S. population knows a second language.  Opportunities in both the public and private sectors abound for graduates who can speak a second language and have cross cultural understanding.

The Foreign Language Department offers courses in Spanish, French, German, and Japanese to fulfill humanities requirements in degree programs as well as the requirements of the foreign language major.  The department also offers specialized training for those who need technical language skills for specific occupations.

Our Foreign Language faculty members are well-traveled, maintain superior language proficiency, and practice current methodologies.  Their proven teaching methods give you the individual attention you need when learning to read, write, listen, speak, and develop cultural understanding in the chosen language.  Let us help you develop your foreign language proficiency!
