About Art

Express your Creativity

At Butler, you will develop sustainable art-making practices. Building a strong technical foundation in a variety of material is critical to your artistic education. You will be taught by a faculty of professional, exhibiting artists who will help you create a competitive portfolio that will launch you to the next level. After obtaining your degree at Butler, you will have the skills to continue your studio practice or transfer to an art institute or four-year college.

Graduates of Butler's art program are pursuing successful careers in art galleries, design studios and in education. Butler's success stories include a professional photographer in Hong Kong, a filmmaker in Egypt and painters, designers and educators from California to New York. When you study art at Butler, you become a part of a close-knit, supportive community of artists striving to help each other grow.

Our campus gallery, the Erman B. White Art Gallery, is home to six art exhibits each school year from regionally and nationally recognized artists. Every April, students participate in a juried art exhibition and have the opportunity to showcase their works of art in the gallery. We finish each academic year with a student art sale.

Scholarships are available for full-time students interested in our art program. Scholarships are awarded based on the submission of portfolios during our Fine Arts Audition Day held each spring semester.
