About Marketing & Management

Part art and part science, this is where business gets creative.

Marketing and management are both fields with a fascinating mix of art and science that arguably constitutes the most creative function within many businesses. To be successful, you need the analytical skills of a statistician, the research skills of a scientist, the human insight of a psychologist and the imagination of an artist. Add a healthy dose of an entrepreneurial risk, and you’ve got a sense of the versatility and excitement careers in marketing and management can offer.

At Butler, you will get a comprehensive education in all those disciplines. You’ll learn how to start a business, develop pricing strategies, create effective ad campaigns and manage a staff. You’ll also learn the principles and methods of internet marketing, a critical skill to compete on the global stage for a share of today’s mushrooming e-commerce. Want to combine your love of sports with a career in business? Butler’s program even includes an introduction to sports management, a highly specialized and growing field.

Program features that deliver all the right benefits

We offer a two-year associate degree designed for those who want to continue their education, an Associate in Applied Science degree for students who want to start working when they graduate, as well as a one-year certification program. For students who are most interested in an advertising career, we offer an Applied Science degree with a concentration in advertising.

The Marketing and Management program is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. In addition, all of the program’s classes are offered online for maximum flexibility.

Our instructors are experienced and like to work closely with our students in classes with enrollment that is limited to 25. You get the individual attention you need to get the most out of your Marketing and Management degree.

We also offer a great opportunity to network with other students and area businesses through Collegiate DECA, our student organization for marketing and management majors. DECA also participates in student competitions with other chapters in the internationally affiliated club.
