Course Specific Requirements for Online Courses
What should I consider before enrolling in a Butler Online course?
It is recommended that first-time online students do not enroll in more than one online course.
Although you can access the course anywhere or anytime, there is a definite class structure, and deadlines! Online courses, just as classroom-based instruction, require that you are fully aware of the instructor’s expectations and requirements.
You need more self-discipline than required in most other learning formats. Highly motivated, responsible and self-directed are key phrases that describe students who are successful in online learning.
You need easy, consistent access to the Internet. Successful online learners are comfortable with word processing and navigating the Internet.
Course Specific Information
Some of our online classes have additional considerations. In certain courses you may be required to meet for proctored in-person exams or real-time/scheduled online meetings. Other courses may require additional materials or equipment.
For information on course-specific considerations, please visit the department pages linked below. If your course or department is not listed, the interactive schedule will contain all the pre-enrollment information that is relevant to your course.
