About The College

Butler Community College is a fully accredited institution offering two-year associate degree programs and one-year certificate programs. Many students choose to first attend a community college to complete their general education requirements before transferring to a four-year university or college to obtain a bachelor's degree. Others choose to complete a vocational or certificate program which may be completed in one or two years.

Our Area

The main campus is located in El Dorado, Kansas, a town with a population of 12,000. Classes are also offered at several other community locations. Many students live in nearby Wichita (population 300,000) and enroll in classes at Andover (15K), Rose Hill (20K), Augusta (20K), and El Dorado (30K).

CLIMATE:

Although the climate is considered mild, there are four distinct seasons with variations of temperatures. In winter, there may be 3 to 6 inches of snow and the temperatures may vary from 20°F (-6C) to 60°F (16°C), but in summer the weather may be hot and sunny with temperatures between 65°F (18°C) and 100+°F (38°C).

TRANSPORTATION:
The nearest airport is located in Wichita. Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport is served by several major airlines including American, Northwest, United TWA and others.

If you will need to be met at the Wichita Mid-Continent airport, please send the arrival information to our e-mail address as early as possible so that we can make arrangements. We will need the following information:
