IT Institute

Welcome to the IT Institute.

Butler Community College, through its CTE Computer Information Technology Department, created the IT Institute to provide opportunities for TAA-eligible displaced workers and veterans. Students gain industry-recognized skills and re-enter the workforce with certificates of completion and industry credentials. Our CTE Information Technology programs meet industry demands by offering instruction in various instructional methods including: online, hybrid and face-to-face. Enhancing the technology capacity for our IT classrooms and to enable the classroom environment with video telepresence lecture capture allows a unique learning environment for our learners. Online courses implement Quality Matters criteria and provide a more learner-engaged classroom.

The IT Institute will also coordinate a strategic alignment with employers and industry while providing the resources to support education and training. Career pathways with multiple entry and exit points have been developed for learners to enter a certificate program, successfully earn an industry credential and enter the workforce. The IT Institute consists of Digital Media, Software Development, Interactive & 3D Technologies, Web Development, Cyber Security and Internetworking Management

The IT Institute has developed a Career Coach page specifically for students in the 6 degree programs that are available. Career Coach is a website designed to provide information about local job postings, resume building help, career assessment testing and much more to help build the student's educational and career pathway.
