Radio - Television - Film
Butlers award-winning, student-operated radio station, KBTL (88.1 FM), welcomes participants from all Butler students, Mass Communication majors or not. The station offers training and hands-on experience for would-be deejays, production personnel, writers and those interested in sports programming (including play-by-play announcing of Butler football and basketball games)! The Campus Edge is a student-produced television news magazine that covers college and community events and airs every two weeks on Cable Channel 49 in the El Dorado, Augusta and Towanda viewing areas. Opportunities exist for those who wish to try their hands at anchoring, reporting, behind-the-scenes producing, directing, writing and camera work and editing. Participation in the TV show is also open to all interested Butler students. Activity scholarships which cover tuition (equivalent to that paid by Kansas residents) and books are available each semester for radio and television production staff. Students need not major in mass communications.
