Valerie Lippoldt Mack
Valerie Lippoldt Mack, lead instructor of music at Butler Community College, has received a Bachelor of Arts from Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kan. , a Bachelor of Music Education from Wichita State University and a Masters in Music Education from Wichita State University. Mack has gained experience and recognition as a music educator and professional choreographer throughout the United States. A clinician, adjudicator and director for various workshops, she has presented more than 500 workshops and festivals in 35 states involving thousands of music educators and students. Mack has presented music sessions for the American Choral Director Association in various states and was a guest clinician for the 1993 National ACDA Convention in San Antonio, Texas. As a clinician, Mack has been on some of the finest vocal jazz and showchoir staffs in the country, including: Walt Disney Worlds and Disney Lands Showstoppers Competition, Six Flags of America Festivals, Doug Andersons Jazz West Workshops, Showchoir Camps of America, the Northern Arizona Music Camp, the Brightleaf Festival in Durham, N.C. and the Wichita State University choreography workshops. She and her husband, Tom, direct the annual Butler Showchoir Summer Showcase, which has more than 400 students and music educators and guest artists attending each July. Mack has also choreographed for John Leavitts Wichita Master Chorale and Youth Chorale, as well as the Eph Ehly Symphony Chorus and the Northwest Missouri State University Celebration Singers. Her choreography has placed first in many national college and high school competitions. A vocal music, ballet and tap instructor, Mack is a former runner-up to Miss Kansas. She adjudicates for state and local pageants and coached 2 talent winners in the Miss America Pageant. In addition to her choreography expertise, she has traveled across the United States as an instructor and director for the International Cheerleading Foundation, Inc. Mack co-directs the Concert Choir with Ron Garber and choreographs the 20-voice Sophisticated Ladies, directs the barbershop group, the Smorgaschords, as well as teaching rhythm tap, ballet and jazz dance classes. Under the direction of Mack, the Butler Community College Headliners Showchoir function as Goodwill Ambassadors for Butler Community College. In addition to hosting the annual Showchoir Festival in November, the group performs throughout the US at numerous special events. The Headliners consist of 26 young, talented singers and dancers plus a five-piece combo. The group has been featured in several state and regional music and other conferences. Annual Headliner tours have allowed the group to perform in Kansas City, Washington DC, Houston, Chicago, Orlando, San Antonio, Niagara Falls, Branson, Mo. and Las Vegas, Nashville, Denver, and Omaha.
