Students win national awards at conference.

Butler Community College’s chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) brought back four trophies from the 2018 National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Md. Future Business Leaders of America - Phi Beta Lambda is a business leadership organization where students compete in business-related competitions, serve the community and develop leadership skills. Janice Akao, professor of business administration and accounting, serves as the advisor for Butler’s chapter.

The team of Simaje Davis of Wichita and John Hacker of Ulysses placed 3rd in Global Analysis and Decision Making.

Tara Varner of Towanda placed 5th in Sales Presentation.

Phi Long Ky of Wichita placed 9th in Strategic Analysis and Decision Making.

This conference was attended by approximately 1,800 college students from across the nation.  The Butler students competed against both two and four year colleges.
