Periodical Databases – Databases are available off campus through Pipeline. Click here for information on how to access the databases off campus.

Health Reference Center – Academic & Health and Wellness Resource Center.
Both databases incorporate general interest and fitness magazines, medical and professional periodicals, reference books and pamphlets. Reference books are fulltext and include such titles as Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine and Mosby’s Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Dictionary. Although both databases contain the same information, each has a very different format. Check both to find which one works best for you. Both are available through the InfoTrac link.

ProQuest Nursing Journals.
Offers full text coverage from 390 publications with a date range from 1992 to present. Some sample journals are Nursing, Nurse Practitioner, RN, and Nursing Diagnosis.

EBSCO Health Source – Nursing/Academic Ed.
This database provides over 550 full text scholarly journals from the medical field. It also includes Clinical Pharmacology, a database of drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new drugs and Stedman’s Medical Dictionary.

Medline.
This online database by the National Library of Medicine is the most comprehensive medical database available. There are 9, 580 information sources dating from 1965 to the present available. Although much of Medline is not full text, check the other three databases for the full text articles or make an InterLibrary Loan request.

Professional organization representing registered nurses in all 53 states and provides links to many nursing resources, as well as links to federal offices, agencies and legislative sites.

Kansas State Nurses Association (KSNA)
Professional organization of registered nurses in Kansas.

HealthWeb: Nursing
This guide is maintained by the Taubman Medical Library, University of Michigan and HealthWeb. It provides web resources on nursing careers, discussion groups, electronic journals, and web sites pertaining to all areas of nursing.
