Finding Books-Kansas Library Card Tutorial
You have your keyword list and are ready to search for materials. You want to begin with books. You need to go to the library catalog.
The Library catalog is an electronic version of the old card catalogs where students used to find books. You can now access the library catalog from the library’s web page. Go to http://www.butlercc.edu/nixon_library.
Click on -- Nixon Library Catalog Under Electronic Resources
What you can find in the library catalog:
- Books
- Periodical subscriptions in the library
- Audiovisual resources – audiocassettes, videos, DVDs
- Electronic resources – CD-ROMS, E-books
What you can’t find:
- Full text articles – These are available from online databases. To learn how to find articles go to Finding Articles.
