Finding Books - Reviewing and Locating Your Results

After you have entered your search terms, a list of results will come up. The results list tells you the type of material, title, author, year, call #, and status.
This is the image of the results after you choose your term.

There are several different types of materials available in the catalog. Pictures at the far right of the screen let you know what type of material each title is.

Title is the title of the material and Author is the author of the material.

Year is the copyright date that the material was published. If you need the most current materials available, click on the year and results will be sorted by most current materials first.

The majority of call numbers are in our circulating collection. Some of our collection has special prefixes before the number. This separates them from the main body of our circulating collection. Clik here for the special prefixes and locations of materials.

Status lets you know if a book is in the library or checked out. You can place a hold on material checked out. After clicking on “hold”, enter your bar code number and last name as password. If you are not sure what your bar code number is contact the library at: rholt@butlercc.edu or call 316.322.3234, 316.733.3234
