Finding Books - Searching the Library Catalog -- Keyword

There are several ways to search the library catalog:

• Keyword
• Author
• Title
• Subject
• Power

Keyword searching is the most popular way to search in the library catalog. It allows you to search for individual words in the title, subject, and other fields in the record.

This is a graphic of where to click on keyword after your term is inserted in the search window.

For example, typing in the keywords, “school violence” will give you records with “school” and “violence” in the TITLE field, SUBJECT field, or both like the record below:
