Office of Retention

Office of Retention

If you are struggling to make the grade, we can make a difference.

Our single-minded focus at Butler is to see our students successfully complete their education. In the Office of Retention, we help students sharpen their skills as students to help them improve their performance and stay in school.

Some students request our assistance themselves, while others are referred by faculty through the Butler Early Alert Referral System. We also administer the college’s academic probation and suspension program, helping students with overall grade point averages of less than the minimum 2.0 to rebuild their grades and complete their degree or certification.

How we can help you finish strong

If you are struggling academically, we encourage you to contact us. We can help you develop a plan for getting back on track, accessing a number of resources including:

  • On-campus and online tutoring support
  • Counseling services
  • Financial aid
  • Training in effective study habits
  • Editors to help you with your writing skills

The more you succeed in your coursework, the more likely you are to complete your education and get the career opportunities you want.
