COURSE DESCRIPTION:
MU162. Applied Band and Orchestra Intruments
III. 1-2 hours credit. Prerequisite: MU161. A continuation of MU161.
TEXTBOOK:
None.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
The primary objective of Applied Band
and Orchestra is:
- To provide additional rehearsal time to the various instrumental sections of the Jazz Ensemble and College band.
- To help students develop in the finer aspects of instrumental ensemble playing.
Warm-up
- Scales, Arpeggios
- Aural skills, Theory
Rehearsal and/or Lesson
METHODS OF INSTRUCTION:
Methods of class instruction may include:
sectional rehearsal; private instruction; audio-visual; class discussion;
exercises in aural skills and music theory; attending live concert performances;
and guest clinicians.
METHODS OF EVALUATION:
Methods of evaluation may include: class
attendance; subjective analysis or students attitude and sense of decorum;
and other methods of evaluation at the discretion of the instructor.

will be revised as deemed necessary by the instructor.
