Applied Band

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
MU162. Applied Band and Orchestra Intruments III. 1-2 hours credit. Prerequisite: MU161. A continuation of MU161.

TEXTBOOK:
None.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:
The primary objective of Applied Band and Orchestra is:

1. To provide additional rehearsal time to the various instrumental sections of the Jazz Ensemble and College band.
2. To help students develop in the finer aspects of instrumental ensemble playing.

METHODS OF INSTRUCTION:
Methods of class instruction may include: sectional rehearsal; private instruction; audio-visual; class discussion; exercises in aural skills and music theory; attending live concert performances; and guest clinicians.

METHODS OF EVALUATION:
Methods of evaluation may include: class attendance; subjective analysis or students attitude and sense of decorum; and other methods of evaluation at the discretion of the instructor.
