COURSE DESCRIPTION:
MU204. Instrumental Workshop III. 1 hour credit. Prerequisite:
Instrumental Workshop III (MU203). This class provides for sectional rehearsal
of concert band repertoire for brass, woodwind, and percussion players.
It also allows for master class presentations and performances for players
in each of those instrument groups.
TEXTBOOK:
None.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
The primary objective of Instrumental Workshop is to
facilitate the refinement of performance repertoire for the Concert Band
and to offer focused instruction in the unique aspects of brass, woodwind,
and percussion playing.
TOPICAL OUTLINE OF UNITS:
- Warm-up
- Scales, Arpeggios
- Tuning
- Rehearsal/Master Class
Methods of class instruction may include: rehearsal; audiovisual; class discussion; attending live concert performances; guest clinicians.
METHODS OF EVALUATION:
Methods of evaluation may include: class attendance;
subjective analysis of students attitude and sense of decorum; concert
reports; and other methods of evaluation at the discretion of the instructor.
OUTLINE REVISION:

as deemed necessary by the instructor.
