INTRODUCTION TO MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMANCE
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
TA130. Introduction to Musical Theatre Performance. 3 hours credit. This course introduces the student to the techniques and approaches to musical theatre performance from concept to performance.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this course, the student will be able to:

- Identify different styles of dance used in theatrical choreography.
- Record dance notation.
- Select and prepare an audition for musical theatre.
- Correctly warm up for performance.
- Demonstrate vocal ability and differentiate between solo and ensemble.
- Cope with stage fright.

- perform a musical score.
- explain basic dance terminology.

Telecourses: Independent study of audio/video
materials augmented by text and study guide; collaboration and participation
with class members and faculty via available means. Faculty role is facilitator
of learning experiences.

- Final exam
Grade determination will be dependent upon
assignment grades, final project, final exam and attendance.
