
Social Science as part of the Butler Learning College of Choice
In the next 5 years, the Social Science Department, as part of the Learning College of Choice, will facilitate learning within exceptional programs and services assigned to this division that address the needs of students and stakeholders in the region including:
- Preparing students for transfer to colleges and universities.
- Preparing students for careers.
- Preparing students to be engaged citizens of their communities, their country, and the world.
- Providing meaningful instruction in the fields of history, political science, economics, and geography.
- Providing instruction in personal interest areas.
- Developing Learning PACT skills.
- Providing access to student learning through multiple locations and delivery systems.
- Providing instructional leadership for the college.
Participating in the college's commitment to Organizational Performance Management, the Social Science Department will be a performance-based system that evaluates programs and services by documenting and evaluating students' skills, knowledge, and stakeholder satisfaction.
