Technical Theatre

Hone Your Skills

You become a well-rounded craftsman at Butler. Whether you learn to build a set out of wood or Styrofoam, or transform an 18-year-old into an 80-year-old with the use of makeup and costumes – you are creating an atmosphere for a production. Industry professionals teach you how to work with lighting, design and sound to make a small town Kansas stage become a vibrant city or mountain ledge – complete with sunrises and sunsets. You learn to go wherever the script takes you. At Butler, you are exposed to a broad range of technical elements that - like magic - transform the stage.
