Wired speaker - Donnie Featherston

Dr. Donnie Featherston

Dr. Donnie Featherston is an Associate Dean of the Early College Academy. He graduated with a PhD in Religion from the University of Denver and was full-time faculty in that subject before transitioning to administration.  Donnie is an active member on our Inclusion Council and has led numerous training sessions for faculty and staff on areas of inclusion, diversity, and building cross-cultural relationships.  He has also presented on Generation Z learners, active learning strategies, and student mentoring.  In 2019 he was the recipient of the John and Suanne Roueche Teaching Excellence Award.

Wired speaker - Brian Foster

Brian Foster

Brian Foster is a technology generalist, a musician and a father of two. A graduate of Butler Community College, Brian has leveraged his expertise in technology and education into a full-time position as an Assistant Professor of the Interactive 3D degree at Butler Community College. 

 

 

 

Wired speaker - Nathan Swink

Dr. Nathan Swink

Dr. Nathan Swink likes goats, disc golf and good beer. A graduate of BCC, Southwestern College, and finally WSU, Nathan earned a Ph. D. in Community Psychology before hiring-on at Butler, in 2014. Here he currently chairs the Institutional Research Board, serves on multiple committees, advises the SoPsyched club, and is a professor of Behavioral Sciences.

Aaron Slemp

Aaron Slemp is a student of the human condition, an avid reader, researcher, and Spartan racer. He is a full-time academic advisor and an adjunct professor at Butler. His most recent passion is data analytics. You can find him biking across Wichita with his wife on most beautiful weekends.

Lori Moshier

Lori Moshier served 18 years in public high schools teaching primarily business classes while serving as an adjunct faculty member for Seward County, Friends University and Wichita State University. A graduate of Wichita State University and subsequently Friends University with her Masters of Education, Lori recently signed on as the Faculty Development Specialist at Butler Community College.

Scott Moshier

Scott Moshier served 30 years in public high schools in the roles of instructor, coach and administrator. A graduate of Southwestern College then Fort Hays State University where he received his Masters in Administration, Scott recently accepted a position at Friends University. 

 

 

 

Wired speaker - Mark Jarvis

Mark Jarvis

Mark Jarvis has been teaching in higher education since 1985. Hailing from Ulysses, Ks, Mark ventured to Kansas State University for his BS in Education and an MA in English. He has taught for Cowley, Hutch, and Butler Community Colleges. He currently serves as the Director of Faculty Development at Butler and teaches Children’s Literature. He is also a closet poet and a landlocked pirate.

Andrea McCaffree-Wallace

Andrea McCaffree-Wallace is in her eighth year as an Associate Professor of English at Butler. She received her MA from Wichita State in English and hold two BAs in English, Women’s Studies, and Philosophy; she is currently pursuing her EdD in curriculum, teaching, and teacher education through the University of Florida. She has developed faculty training covering issues from online instruction to inclusion, lead a team of faculty to develop English OER texts (saving Butler students over half a million dollars to date), and developed curriculum for developmental English students.  In 2017 she was the recipient of the John and Suanne Roueche Teaching Excellence Award.   

Wired speaker - Cory Teubner

Cory Teubner

Cory Teubner has been enthusiastically teaching English at BCC for 8 years in classrooms both real and virtual. During this time he has garnered numerous award nominations for his teaching. At Butler, Teubner has been a strong and innovative advocate for active-learning classroom methods, working closely with AVID for Higher Education and Butler's Faculty Development Team. Additionally, Teubner has spearheaded several initiatives on campus including the promotion of inclusive practices campus wide; helping develop the earliest incarnations of Butler’s Summer Jam professional development seminars; as well as conceiving, initiating, and administering Butler’s PDX series of first-year-experience orientation classes for nearly all of Butler’s degree programs.

Xavia Dryden

Xavia Dryden spends her days working as an Assistant Professor of English at Butler Community College and her nights wrangling a toddler and a newborn. Since graduating from Wichita State University in 2015, she has developed and taught a variety of writing and literature courses (in both traditional and online settings) at both BCC and WSU while helping to bring a variety of projects related to institutional inclusion and OER development to fruition.  

 

 

Wired speaker - Andy Jones

Andy Jones

Andy Jones has been teaching English for 6 years at Butler Community College and splits his time between high school concurrent classes, developmental education, and traditional English Composition.  With an emphasis on Cultural Theory and Pop Culture combined with classical rhetoric and structure, he seeks to engage students with the familiar while introducing them to the wonderful world of words.  In his spare time, Andy serves on Butler’s Inclusion Council, Faculty Development Team, and Textbook Affordability Team.
