Welding - Jump Start - Certificate

Let us help you earn your certificate or associate degree while simultaneously earning your high school diploma by spending half a day at your high school and the other half at the Welding facilities on the Butler Community College El Dorado campus taking classes. You can prepare yourself for a job welding and get a jump start on your career.

Graduates of the Welding - Jump Start - Certificate can:

  • Apply technical knowledge and skills to join or cut metal surfaces
  • Execute various welding and cutting procedures up to AWS standards
  • Perform blueprint reading and metallurgy with consideration for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Earn a guaranteed job interview with the Union Tank Car Company (UTLX) El Dorado Facility

To earn your certificate, a third semester at Butler after high school graduation is required. From there you’ll be ready to take off on  your career, or come back for just one more semester and earn your associate degree.
