COVID-19: Res-Hall Update
July 7, 2020
The Residence Life Department is planning to open it’s doors and be fully operational for the Fall 2020 semester with the exception being that Apartments C and D will be closed for isolation purposes due to COVID-19.
Move-In Day is set for August 8. We are asking anyone traveling from a state that is on the KDHE list of mandatory 14-day quarantine to come early and get your quarantine out of the way before classes start August 10.
The schedule for move-in day is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plans are being made to schedule move-in teams of three (3) in 15-minute intervals for different areas of the residence halls in order to accommodate social distancing.
A FREE grab and go lunch will be provided with hamburgers and hotdogs for students and family members. Butler administrators will be available at the lunch should you or your parents have any questions.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Office of Residence Life anytime. We are excited to meet you!
The Office of Residence Life takes the health and safety of our residents very seriously; therefore, the Residence Halls will be following the recommendation of the college and the CDC. The Halls will be closing for the remainder of the semester. Students will have until Friday, March 20, 2020 at 5 PM to move out. To avoid charges and fines, you will need to remove all of you belongings from the room and then come to the Residence Life Office in East Hall (1300 bldg) to check out and turn your keys and prox card in.
For students needing other accommodations, the Grizzly Villas has 2 bed room apartments available for our residents. You can move in immediately and stay until May 10. You can either pay $1100 up front with no deposit or fees or go through their normal application process and pay monthly. For questions about this, please call them at 316-452-5850.
Students that cannot move their belongings out by Friday, March 20, 2020 by 5 PM will need to call the Office of Residence Life at 316-323-6968 to make an appointment to move out by Friday, May 15th, 2020 at 5 PM.
