Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Fellowship of Scholars

Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society for the two year college. Phi Theta Kappans are recognized for their academic achievement as well as their community service, fellowship, and leadership. The four hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa, our guiding principles for programming, include: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. Our many traditions and customs make this society a Fellowship of Scholars.

Butler's chapter is Alpha Phi Alpha.



To be eligible for Phi Theta Kappa, you must have an institutional cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better, be currently taking classes at Butler, and have completed at least 12 credit hours (100 level or higher) at Butler.

Induction Date: April 23, 2017, Hubbard Welcome Center (2000 building), El Dorado Campus

Membership fees: $100 

Enrollment period ends - May 10 (Spring) and December 31 (Fall)


Phi Theta Kappa requires you to attend a new member information meeting.


      26 – Member Meeting, BOA Grizzly Den, 5pm


       2 – Member Meeting, BOE 20006-20007, 5pm

       27 – Informational Meeting, BOE, 5pm


          2 – Informational Meeting, BOA Grizzly Den, 5pm


            12 – WED Member Meeting, BOE, 15-108

              4 – Member Meeting, BOA Grizzly Den, 5pm


Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings. We alternate the meetings between campuses.

You may bring the Member Application and Member Fact Sheet with your membership dues with you to the meeting. You may also join online or mail your fees (see address below).

If you are unable to attend an information meeting, request new member information from

  1. Fill out and turn in the "Phi Theta Kappa Membership Application", 
  2. Fill out and turn in " Member Fact Sheet", 
  3. Send your check OR pay online.
