Butler Community College’s culinary arts students participated in Death by Chocolate.

This 9th annual event was in March at Exploration Place in Wichita. Death by Chocolate, which holds the fitting slogan “Science Never Tasted So Sweet,” is a fun event with live music, awards, and lots of chocolate. The students that won awards are Keegan Courtright of Honolulu, Hawaii, for best savory and Nathalie Eldridge of Wichita for people’s choice.

“We spend weeks testing recipes and trying different ideas. It was really a collaborative effort with around a dozen students involved throughout the process, and myself giving them feedback,” Executive Chef John Michael, lead instructor of culinary arts, said.
