Butler Names Dr. Aidan Dunleavy Associate Vice President of Institutional Research

Dunleavy to lead College’s quality assurance and strategic improvement efforts.
Butler Community College is pleased to announce Dr. Aidan Dunleavy of Andover has been named Associate Vice President of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. His first day was Thursday, January 2.
Dr. Dunleavy comes to Butler from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, where he served as Director of Finance. He has prior experience as the Director of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Accreditation at Friends University, also in Wichita. In addition to his administrative roles, Dunleavy has previously worked at BG Automation and taught business classes at Friends University and, most recently, Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas.
Dunleavy says he has enjoyed the many ways his new data-driven, forward-thinking role is positioned to affect the overall College community. “[This] position provides so many opportunities to interact with faculty and staff across the College and to influence the systems and resources available to help our students, which is incredibly fulfilling to me.”
Research Analyst Dr. Jenna Gannon, who served as interim associate vice president and was part of the search committee that selected Dunleavy, is excited about what his arrival means for the office. “He brings valuable experience and insight. I couldn’t be happier with how the process has started and I’m looking forward to seeing where we go as a team,” said Gannon.
One month in, Dunleavy has nothing but good things to say about his experience at Butler. “This is a community that values each other, the work we do, and the people we help, and it is a pleasure to be part of such a team,” he said.
Dr. Dunleavy holds Bachelors degrees in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Kansas, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Creighton University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Kansas. He also holds a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation from the Institute of Management Accountants.
