At Butler Community College, we have a great deal to offer the aspiring writer. Whether you plan on making English your major, or if English classes offer you the prerequisite to another major, Butler can offer you a solid foundation upon which to build. In both composition and literature courses, you'll draw on the knowledge of a faculty whose credentials include MAs, MFAs, and PhDs and whose interest and profession is writing.

Spend your first two years of college with us, and you can transfer to the school of your choice with the confidence that you've received the best start possible. Butler has provided many English majors with a solid foundation for moving on to upper level courses at universities, and many of our non-majors have had continued success in a variety of careers that demand excellence in written communication.

For those who are specifically interested in creative writing, we offer a scholarship allowing a student the opportunity to edit the Quill, a publication featuring creative works of students, faculty, and staff.

We think you will come to know what many former students understand: Butler offers a quality English program that includes smaller class sizes and opportunity for personal attention and guidance to help you in your major or career.

We look forward to meeting you!
