Produce Your Future Success
You get your hands on the microphone, the camera and editing platforms early on. You join a student team responsible for producing year-round, 24/7 programming for KBTL 88.1 The Grizz radio and Arktos Moving Images. We prepare you for a successful broadcast and digital career.
Your Future Isn’t Static at Butler
Produce feature stories, music programs for podcasts and television comedy sketches. You develop reporting skills, like interviewing, writing and designing pieces for live and on-demand audiences.
Grizzlies in the Wild
Our students compete each year through the Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB) where they put their work up against other Kansas collegiate media students. Butler’s students have claimed more than 100 first-place awards, 90 second-place awards and 100 honorable mentions - and counting - since KAB has sponsored a student competition.
University Transfer and Future Career Options
Our program is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of a Media Arts and Production career. Once you earn your associate degree, you have transfer options to build on your Butler experience.

The Grizz is our student-run radio station for the college and surrounding communities. We flavor our Rock-Jazz format with a wide variety of specialty music and talk shows.
