Workforce Division: Workforce Development

A longstanding partnership between Pittsburg State University and Butler Community College, the Workforce Development degree completion program is designed for working adults interested in pursuing a career in trades management and looking for a flexible and convenient way to finish their degree.

MACRCATP Apprentices

Butler is excited to partner with the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council Apprentice and Training Program (MACRCATP) and Pittsburg State University to provide a pathway to a two-year associate degree from Butler and a four-year bachelor’s degree from Pitt State in Workforce Training.

MACRCATP NEXT STEPS

Apprentices successfully complete up to 36 credit hours through the (MACRCATP)
Transfer those credits to Butler and complete 26 credit hours of General Education courses face-to-face or online to earn Butler’s Workforce Division: Workforce Development Applied Science (AAS) Degree.
Transfer your two-year Workforce Division degree toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science with Technology Management emphasis at Pitt State University.

Turn Your Apprenticeship into a Bachelor’s Degree

As this online program is intended for apprenticeship students, the coursework deviates slightly from Butler’s standard requirements to honor the applied math background of students coming from various apprenticeship programs.

Become the Boss

Butler's partnership with Pittsburg State allows students who have completed their AAS degree to earn a Bachelor of Science degree without having to set foot on campus. A maximum of 35 credit hours from apprenticeship work will be applied toward the BS degree.
