A longstanding partnership between Pittsburg State University and Butler Community College, the Workforce Development degree completion program is designed for working adults interested in pursuing a career in trades management and looking for a flexible and convenient way to finish their degree.
Butler is excited to partner with the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council Apprentice and Training Program (MACRCATP) and Pittsburg State University to provide a pathway to a two-year associate degree from Butler and a four-year bachelor’s degree from Pitt State in Workforce Training.

As this online program is intended for apprenticeship students, the coursework deviates slightly from Butler’s standard requirements to honor the applied math background of students coming from various apprenticeship programs.
Butler's partnership with Pittsburg State allows students who have completed their AAS degree to earn a Bachelor of Science degree without having to set foot on campus. A maximum of 35 credit hours from apprenticeship work will be applied toward the BS degree.
