E.B. White Art Gallery
E. B. White Art Gallery
The Erman B. White Gallery of Art is dedicated to the memory of its namesake, a successful El Dorado oil businessman. White spent most of his time either working in the oil fields or teaching aviation. The Erman B. White Gallery of Art standard hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please check the schedule for additional dates and hours.
If you would like information on any of our exhibits, or to speak with one of our gallery co-directors about having your works displayed, contact Trisha Coates at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A 1927 graduate of El Dorado High School, Erman B. White began the E. B. White Flying Service in El Dorado in 1940. In 1948, he established the White & Ellis Drilling Company in Emporia. He moved the business to El Dorado in 1951 and passed away in 1959.
The gallery was established as the result of a gift provided by his wife, Helen, and son, Tom. This generous gift allowed the White Gallery to open its doors October 1992.
The Erman B. White Gallery of Art provides the opportunity to experience a variety of art mediums of unique visual expression. Exhibits include paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, architecture, handcrafted jewelry, and photography by both regional and national artists. Located in the college's Fine Arts Building, the gallery is host to unique and innovative exhibits throughout the year, excluding the months of June, July, and August.
