Towanda native Afnan Alhilali is turning a lifelong passion for animals into a future in veterinary medicine, supported by the significant scholarship from the Butler Community College Foundation. A pre-vet student at Butler, Alhilali balances coursework with hands-on experience working at a veterinary clinic and training horses. With plans to earn her bachelor’s degree and continue on to veterinary school, she’s focused on serving rural communities through a mixed animal practice. “With my experience and drive, I am determined to reach my goal of becoming a vet and contribute to animal health in rural areas,” said Alhilali.
