This person is also responsible for the accuracy and disbursement of data and maintenance of Banner components relative to student records and registration. Cook, Educare Center

Part-time/ 28 hours per week

8:00am-1:00pm 3 days a week and 8:00am-2:30pm 2 days a week

 

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The part-time EduCare Center Cook oversees operations of the food program, including hygiene, meal planning and preparation, food distribution to rooms, supervision of student workers, record keeping and all kitchen operations; ensures adherence to Child Care Food Program guidelines and all public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation. Required Knowledge and Skills; increasing understanding of child growth and development; the ability to role-model for children, volunteers, and parents; personal hygiene; the ability to maintain a safe, clean, appropriate environment for children and staff; general knowledge of nutrition, health and first-aid; willingness to accept supervision; a special ability to maintain positive relationships with children, co-workers, and parents; willingness to read, to learn, and to increase understanding of child development through workshops and study; and the ability to maintain accurate written records; and perform mathematical calculations accurately. Experience and Requirements: good health as confirmed by physician required; must be Tuberculosis free; KBI Clearance for teaching required; and must attend a food safety course and attend workshops as needed. Prior experience working with young children preferred and prior experience cooking for young children preferred. Required Education; High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional requirements include: good health as confirmed by physician within the past year prior to the first day of employment. Associate Registrar

Full-time

 

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Associate Registrar-Andover Campus is responsible to the Registrar for the overall management and supervision of processes and personnel at the Andover campus, and will commute as necessary to the El Dorado campus for meetings, etc. as requested/required by the Registrar. Additional responsibilities include the overall supervision of the processing, maintenance, and analysis of all Butler Community College hours earned as well as all incoming transfer hours, military credit, and non-traditional credit. This position has the primary responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of DegreeWorks, Butler’s automated degree audit program, as it relates to the entire institution. Required Knowledge and Skills: excellent human relations skills; knowledge of higher education processes and procedures; excellent organizational skills; attention to details and accuracy a must; working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access, as well as relational database (Banner); must be able to work independently, with minimum supervision; the ability to interpret and enforce catalog requirements as they relate to degree audit program; the ability to communicate with Butler employees at all levels; and the ability to manage personnel and processes. Required Experience: minimum 2 years’ experience in higher education setting; minimum 2 years’ experience in office procedures, including personnel supervision; minimum 2 years’ experience dealing directly with the public; and minimum 2 years’ experience with PC’s and relational database. Customer Service Secretary-Academic Support and Effectiveness

Part-time/20 hours per week

 

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Customer Service Secretary, Andover campus, will be responsible for supporting the Academic Support and

Effectiveness division on the Andover campus. Responsibilities include reception duties, typing, record-keeping, and

general office work. In addition, managing incoming calls for the Learning Labs and Adult Education and assisting and

supporting full-time and part-time instructors and staff in the division, as needed.

Required Knowledge and Skills: excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to follow written and oral instructions; the ability to work with minimal supervision; the ability to maintain confidentiality; excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to be punctual and dependable; the ability to be flexible in scheduling tasks and responsibilities; competency in using Microsoft Office software and other computer software programs; the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds; and the ability to bend, reach, or stoop to access low and high storage cabinets and file drawers.

Agriculture Instructor

The Agriculture Instructor will need the background to teach a variety of core Agriculture courses with emphasis in animal science curriculum. Prospective candidate must be skilled in a variety of instructional techniques and technologies with a willingness to adapt to future online course work needs. Prospective candidate must be forward thinking in new and innovative agriculture programs. The Agriculture Instructor will need the background to teach a variety of Agriculture courses. Candidate should have an understanding of the principles in the area of animal agriculture, crop production, swine management, be a well-rounded livestock evaluator, breeding/reproduction, as well as future markets to farm and ranch management. Applicant will also be asked to assist in recruitment efforts and in cultivating relationships with youth programs, livestock breeders and businesses. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture required; Master’s degree in Agriculture preferred. Teaching, collegiate livestock coaching and/or participation and industry experience preferred. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Lead Technician

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician performs maintenance and repair on all campus HVAC systems. The Technician also does minor electrical and plumbing installations, repairs and maintenance. This position has supervisory authority while under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of General Services- Facilities Management. Required knowledge and skills include: must show pride in craftsmanship; ability to do trade related mathematics; must be able to communicate with other trades; must be able to safely direct helpers under him; make diagnostic decisions based on education, experience and instrument readiness; ability to climb, stood, bend and work in awkward positions; cannot be afraid of heights; ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; can work indoors and outdoors; can work overtime and weekends in emergencies; must be CFC certified type U Universal; must either know or be able to measure existing chilled water, hot water and air flow rates, valve CV and flow coefficients; must be able to balance air flow and set variable volume boxes; must be able to calculate heat gain and cooling load to properly size heating and cooling equipment; and must keep up to date in E.P.A. regulations and practices to remain in compliance. Refrigerant recovery and reclaiming safe storage clean air act. Required experience includes: be working licensed journeyman with a minimum of 8 years experience. Student Support Services Math Specialist

Part-time/10 hours per week

(SSS TRIO Grant funded position)

 

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The SSS Math Specialist will be responsible to the SSS Project Director for planning and coordinating services to grant participants. Through tutoring, curriculum development, supplemental math instruction and personal support plans the Math Specialist will assist program students in achieving progress toward goal attainment. He/She will be responsible for coordinating training and support for SSS Peer Tutors. The position requires flexible work hours including evening hours. Required knowledge and skills include strong organizational and communication skills, good judgment and maturity, a cooperative attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience preferred in supplemental math, curriculum development, individual learning, competency-based instruction and computer-assisted instruction. One year of teaching experience required. Director of College Relations & Marketing

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

     The Director of Marketing and College Relations is responsible to the Vice President of Advancement for planning, implementing and evaluating marketing and communications efforts that increase awareness of and enrollment at Butler Community College. This position oversees promotions, public relations, college relations, Content Management System (CMS) and web presence, social media, and communication strategies that fulfill the college’s strategic plan.

     The Director of Marketing and College Relations works closely with the Advancement division, Enrollment management, Institutional research, Web services and the President’s office to identify market segments and communicate effectively.  The position prioritizes projects that contribute to enrollment by accessing research, working collaboratively with various divisions, departments and colleagues and develops strategies that embrace our brand promise. The Director of Marketing and College Relations is the chief liaison for media buys, works within the requirements of the budget and maintains positive working relationships with creative agencies and vendors.

     Required Knowledge and Skills: demonstrated understanding and articulation of college mission, vision and strategic priorities; experience with planning, implementing and evaluating effective marketing campaigns that increase awareness of the college and enrollment; graphic design and media layout knowledge; ability to work within budget requirements and analyze spending effectiveness; ability to analyze marketing research; ability to communicate through strong writing and verbal skills; ability to distribute various advertising and public relations materials in targeted and effective ways; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage the marketing process, including strategic planning, budget and project management, creative and conceptual design; and the ability to strategically leverage resources in efficient, effective and measurable manner. Required Experience: documented experience with successful outcomes to include media relations in situations of crisis or pride; CMS and web presence oversight experience; proven experience in a marketing environment; experience in higher education preferred; administrative/supervisory experience; writing for advertising and/or public relations; campaign/marketing experience, including advertising and public relations at the local, metro and/or national level; computer and technology skills; preferred knowledge of Mac and PC platforms and software; and experience planning and managing a substantial annual budget. Required Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications and a Master’s degree in related field.
