Customer Service/ Enrollment Secretary
Part-time/ 20 hours per week//Hours will vary between 3:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Butler of Andover

Responsibilities of the part-time customer service/enrollment secretary include managing all aspects of the front office environment for Butler of Andover and performing routine and non-routine secretarial duties. Must be able to provide students with information about Butler Community College and refer them to the appropriate offices. Will perform data entry for all enrollments, drop/adds, applications and other enrollment information on the computer. Will provide support as needed across all Andover campus locations.  Must have strong communication and human relations skills and have the ability to follow directions or work independently. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and exercise good judgment in a wide variety of situations. One year secretarial or general office experience in a service-oriented or business environment is required. Previous computer experience as well as MS Word or IPS training required. Financial Aid Office Assistant

Responsible to Financial Aid Counselor for duties that includes office assistant for Financial Aid. Will be primarily responsible for Financial Aid e-mail responses. Other duties include customer service and secretarial duties for Financial Aid. Must possess outstanding human relations and organizational skills, as well as excellent clerical and communication skills. Must be computer literate and be able to enter data and operate Microsoft Office programs. Will be key point of contact for the public and students. Must have ability to work in a team setting or independently and to keep office information confidential. Must be able to use independent judgment and to complete projects with a high degree of accuracy despite interruptions. Knowledge of the federal programs of financial aid required. High school diploma or GED required, Associate's degree preferred. Excellent computer skills required. Secretarial experience required, with experience in the field of financial aid highly preferred. Computer Aided Drafting Adjunct Instructor

The part-time instructor will be responsible to teach Residential Design & CAD and Commercial Building Design classes for Butler Community College. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture or equivalent work experience with an engineering or architecture company is required. Must be able to work overtime and adapt to unscheduled activities. Must have knowledge of chemical products use and storage. Must be in good physical health and possess a valid driver's license. Ability to lift 50 lbs. without limitations required. Required knowledge of custodial duties, associated equipment and cleaning solvents. High school diploma or equivalent required. International Specialist
Part time/ 30 hours per week/ 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Will assist the international advisors with admissions, processing of immigration documents, file management, student orientation and programming. Will also serve as the key contact person for the international office of current and prospective international students. Will be responsible for all reception and clerical duties within the international office. Will maintain records such as updating and verifying student information, assist with the preparation of statistical reports and sort and respond to inquiries for international admissions. Will also need to stay informed of INS regulations and SEVIS Designated School Official. Must have a high degree of accuracy, excellent communication skills, and be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to communicate with cultural sensitivity. Must have good computer skills and willing to work in a team environment. Previous clerical/secretarial experience required. High school diploma required, post secondary clerical training preferred. Literacy/ABE Instructor
Part-time/ 20 hours per week/ 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Mon-Th)

Responsible for instruction of literacy, adult basic education and GED preparation instruction at the Butler Workforce Center, in addition to other content such as basic technology and work readiness as needed. Instructor will be held accountable for students acquiring the four primary goals set by the National Reporting System. Will work with the Instructional Coordinator to develop curriculum, administer appropriate assessment(s), conduct follow-up, and to maintain and update records. Instructor may be asked to occasionally substitute for other instructors. Perform routine office procedures as needed. Program standards require the employee to actively participate in professional development activities for Kansas Board of Regents trainings and Kansas Adult Education Association credentialing. Must be able to confer effectively with students and personnel regarding program needs. Must have a thorough knowledge of subject matter and competency-based instruction. Need basic computer skills, flexibility in scheduling, competency in teaching developmental skills, and the ability to create individualized study plans. Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, Elementary Education, Special Education or related field required, with a current Kansas teaching certificate and/or Kansas Adult Education Association Credential and previous teaching experience preferred. If not KAEA credentialed, must obtain KAEA credentials within six weeks of hire. The applicant may be requested to authorize the College to procure a consumer report(s) for employment purposes.

Technology and Workplace Essential Skills Instructor
Part-time/ 20 hours per week/ 8:30 - 12:30 (M-Th), 8:30 - 5:00 (Fri)

Responsible to administer KBOR Technology Competency Assessment and Workplace Essential Skill (WES) Assessment, provide technology specific instruction, and provide employability, technology and financial literacy instruction. Accountable for advancing students through the levels, for maintaining student file documentation and assessment records, for reporting data to the data entry personnel, and to be accountable for procedures during the annual KBOR program monitoring visit. May occasionally be required to travel to other locations as needed. Must be able to confer effectively with students and personnel regarding program needs. Must have a thorough knowledge of subject matter. Need to have flexibility, competency in teaching technology and pre-employment skills, and the ability to create individualized study plans. Previous teaching experience with adults with one year experience in the technology field required.  CASAS, WES & Performance Based Assessments training preferred; if not trained must attend CASAS training as soon as offered. Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, Elementary Education, Special Education or related field required, with a current Kansas teaching certificate and/or Kansas Adult Education Association Credential preferred. If not KAEA credentialed, must obtain KAEA credentials within six weeks of hire. The applicant may be requested to authorize the College to procure a consumer report(s) for employment purposes.

Evening PASS Instructor
Part time/ 16 hours (four evenings) per week

Responsible for Butler Adult Education evening instruction of adult basic education, pre-GED and GED and advanced skills including ASSET preparation needed for transition to post-secondary education, in addition to other content such as basic technology and work readiness as needed. Also responsible for students acquiring the four primary goals set by the National Reporting System. Will assist with curriculum development, administer appropriate assessments and interpret results, monitor student progress and teach CASAS competencies, accurately maintain and update records, and perform routine office procedures as needed. May substitute for other instructional staff occasionally. Will also participate in professional development activities for Kansas Board of Regents trainings and KAEA credentialing. Must be able to confer effectively with students and personnel regarding program needs. Must have a thorough knowledge of subject matter and competency-based instruction. Need basic computer skills, flexibility in scheduling, competency in teaching developmental skills, and the ability to create individualized study plans. Electrician/Telecommunication Specialist

The Journeyman Electrician/Telecommunications Specialist performs maintenance and repair on all campus electrical systems. The specialist also does installation, maintenance and repairs to the campus telecommunications systems and assists in the maintenance of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. This position has limited supervisory authority while under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of General Services. Will also assist with general services, grounds and technical services as needed and perform plumbing tasks as required. Will troubleshoot and maintain campus fire alarm systems. Must possess the ability to do trade related mathematics and be able to communicate with other trades. Must be able to make diagnostic decisions based on education, experience and instrument readiness; be able to safely direct helpers; be able to climb, stoop, bend and work in awkward positions and be able to life a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors and be willing to work overtime and weekends in emergencies. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be a working licensed journeyman with a minimum of two years experience and documented job related training. Hourly rate of pay: $12.61. Full fringe benefits.
