Administrative Assistant to the Dean for Enrollment Management

Full-time

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The full-time administrative Assistant to the Dean for Enrollment Management attends to the confidential correspondence, records, reports, and appointments for the efficient operation of the Dean for Enrollment Management office. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Dean for Enrollment Management. Required knowledge and skills include: the ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality; supervisory and secretarial experience; excellent public relations and organizational skills; knowledge and ability to teach office procedures and secretarial skills; interpersonal ability to maintain working relationships with all college employees and students; the ability to maintain a pleasant working atmosphere and a good working relationship with co-workers, public, other departments and locations; an understanding of and appreciation for the educational process; the ability to meet multiple pressure deadlines and complete work accurately; computer literacy; familiar with Banner, Word, Excel, Access, and Windows and possess typing skills of 60 wpm; knowledge to read and reconcile budgets; ability to use a 10 key calculator; must be neat and clean, demonstrating a professional appearance, write legibly, and follow oral and written instructions accurately; the ability to concentrate on tasks in an environment which is constantly demanding attention to multiple tasks; and the ability to work as a team member and assist in the efficient operation of the entire division; using his/her skills to effect a positive working atmosphere and professional environment for students and the general public. Required experience includes: experience working in an administrative office setting; five years secretarial/office manager experience; experience working with the public; computer experience using word processing, data base and spreadsheet software; and experience in keeping financial records. Literacy/ABE Instructor

 DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Responsible for instruction of literacy, adult basic education and GED preparation instruction at the Butler Workforce Center, in addition to other content such as basic technology and work readiness as needed. Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, Elementary Education, Special Education or related field required, with a current Kansas teaching certificate and/or Kansas Adult Education Association Credential and previous teaching experience preferred. Business Improvement Specialist

The Business Improvement Specialist is responsible for developing key partnerships/relationships at the executive and decision making levels of targeted accounts. Account management responsibilities include targeted account strategies, devised as part of the team as well as accurate quarterly sales forecasting of accounts.

The Business Improvement Specialist applies workforce development, economic development and business and industry knowledge to partner with clients, funding entities and others in identifying performance-improvement opportunities; develops, evaluates or acquires possible solutions and recommends the solutions that will have a positive impact on performance; gains client agreement and commitment to the proposed solutions and collaboratively develops an overall implementation strategy that includes evaluating impact on business performance; uses appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to build effective long-term relationships with the client.

Required Knowledge and Skills: Workforce planning approaches, succession and replacement-planning approaches, job analysis tools and procedures, career development theories and approaches, individual and organizational assessment tools, including assessment center methodologies, coaching and mentoring approaches, Human Performance Improvement consulting approaches, managerial and leadership development best practices, performance management systems and techniques, and knowledge of workforce training, trends and issues; strong verbal and written skills – ability to prepare sales presentations as well as administer sales presentations to target audience. Ability to present information in a way that establishes rapport, trust, respect and value; knowledge of and ability to lead the acquisition of alternative funding sources for the college and clients including local, state and federal grants, workforce training funds, economic development funds, private and foundation funds, etc; ability to work effectively in a team selling environment; demonstrates team leadership skills; ability to work independently and achieve results though influence and consensus building; strong customer focus, showing a sincere interest in meeting client’s needs; strong organizational, time management and personal management skills; superior computer skills; business acumen; and understanding of training and human resources. 

Required Experience & Educational Background: 5+ years of experience in business to business sales responsibilities to include the following: experience managing own territory with an integral amount of sales training and development; experience selling complex/conceptual intangibles; and training or related experience preferred. A proven track record in sales in conceptual business solutions is also required with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing of a related area or equivalents. Master’s Degree preferred. Five years of full-time, upper-level experience at the collegiate level or in workforce training or related activities required. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Lead Technician

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician performs maintenance and repair on all campus HVAC systems. The Technician also does minor electrical and plumbing installations, repairs and maintenance. This position has supervisory authority while under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of General Services- Facilities Management. Required knowledge and skills include: must show pride in craftsmanship; ability to do trade related mathematics; must be able to communicate with other trades; must be able to safely direct helpers under him; make diagnostic decisions based on education, experience and instrument readiness; ability to climb, stood, bend and work in awkward positions; cannot be afraid of heights; ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; can work indoors and outdoors; can work overtime and weekends in emergencies; must be CFC certified type U Universal; must either know or be able to measure existing chilled water, hot water and air flow rates, valve CV and flow coefficients; must be able to balance air flow and set variable volume boxes; must be able to calculate heat gain and cooling load to properly size heating and cooling equipment; and must keep up to date in E.P.A. regulations and practices to remain in compliance. Refrigerant recovery and reclaiming safe storage clean air act. Required experience includes: be working licensed journeyman with a minimum of 8 years experience. Teacher Aide

DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Responsibilities of the part-time Teacher Aide will include the care, safety and well-being of all children in the group. Will also assist with carrying out activities. Will help children learn to adapt to and cope with real life situations and assist in keeping the environment organized, safe, clean and pleasant. Must have a general knowledge of nutrition, health and first aid; the ability to be a role model for young children and to apply understating of developmental levels to activities; have a willingness to increase understanding of child development; and be comfortable in interacting with and caring for children. Must also have the ability to adapt to new situations and new children and be willing to accept supervision. Prior experience working with a variety of ages of young children required. Must have good health as confirmed by a physician, possess certificate of First Aid training and adult, child and infant CPR, be tuberculosis free and have KBI clearance.
