Sports Media
Butler's Sports Media program was created in 2003. Six students
receive scholarships each year and receive a full range of sports
coverage experience. This is highlighted by radio coverage of
nationally-recognized Butler athletics. Students are also involved in
coverage on television.
Sports Media students broadcast every home and away contest for Butler's football and basketball teams, including travel to football bowl games. Coverage includes post-game shows with the head coaches.
All broadcasts are taped, which can be used for critiques and when seeking employment. Students also attend broadcast seminars, where they can have their work critiqued by professional sports broadcasters.
Also, as a part of the Sports Media program, students are able to write sports stories and take photographs for student publications.
