Free College Class Day 2010

Times are tough. Money's tight. Nothing sounds better right now than "Free."

With that in mind, Butler Community College is hosting the Second Annual Free College Class Day. It's a fresh idea from Butler designed to bring life-long learners together for a day of fun and inspiration. On March 27, the college is hosting a full day of eclectic one-hour classes offered to the public at no cost.

New this year, Butler is expanding Free College Class Day to include Marion, Rose Hill, Council Grove and McConnell, along with the El Dorado and Andover locations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For participants, Free College Class Day is about learning from those who love to teach. Right now, we're looking for enthusiastic instructors to volunteer to share their wisdom on just about any subject. Do you have a creative idea for a class? Virtually anything goes. You dig motorcycles? Show us how to repair a carburetor. You like to spend your free time tap dancing? Teach us to paradiddle. Whatever excites you - stamps, fine cuisine, remote-controlled cars, ghost hunting - is a lesson that can be taught. Last year, we featured more than 130 different classes and taught more than 1,300 hours of exciting subjects.
