Challenge your music abilities in our nationally recognized music programs designed for you to become a professional. You take to the stage right away, starting in your first semester. The small class experience gives you one-on-one training large institutions can’t offer. Your instructors have industry experience as published authors, active performers, clinicians and are ready to be your personal tutors.
Share your musical talent with others as you perform in front of live audiences. You perform often, so you can develop and challenge your instrumental skills as we help you become a trained musician.
Perform in one of our instrumental ensembles with up to 80 students, including Concert Band, Show Band & Jazz Combo, Percussion Ensemble and more. Being a part of our bands means you perform all over the nation, with opportunity for private lessons from our professional instructors.
Employers are always looking for what makes a candidate stand out and what better way than involvement in instrumental music. Music has a way of opening our minds to think outside of the box and problem solve in a variety of situations and these are skills that are needed in today’s world. Whether you plan on being a teacher, an engineer, or a welder, the skills you learn with us are transferable and in high demand.
It’s a fast two years full of excitement and stage time all wrapped up in a financially affordable package. We keep you moving with performances every few weeks and guest clinicians from all over the country.
Let your voice be heard in our various small ensembles, including A Cappella, Chambers Singers, Headliners, Rose Gold and Barbershop Quartets. Our large Concert Choir is known throughout the area for excellence.
Challenge your technique, style and ability to perform for an audience. No other college in our area has community partnerships and professional performance opportunities like we do. You perform with organizations like the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Music Theatre of Wichita, The Kansas Dance Academy and the Wichita Grand Opera. Many of our current students and alumni also perform with the local Wichita barbershop group SmorgasChorus.
Our students perform, intern and study with industry greats. We’re sort of a big deal.
Graduates from our program have careers across the nation. From Grammy-winning Choral singers to Broadway touring performers and characters at Disney, our students are everywhere. There’s no better place to begin your training to perform professionally, write music or seek a career in music theater.
Refine your piano and keyboard skills in our modern lab, designed to support both individual practice and collaborative learning. With multiple workstations and flexible pairing options, your instructor will guide you in targeting your strengths and expanding your musical abilities.
Our program is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of a Music career. Once you earn your associate degree, you have transfer options to build on your Butler experience.
