In celebration of Black History Month, Butler's Becoming One Never Divided (BOND) organization, formerly known as the Black Student Association, will present “Our Presence is Political,” a panel discussion on February 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Clifford/Stone Room located in the El Dorado Campus Welcome Center. Admission is free.
Billed as a discussion on immigration, elections and collective power, the event will feature panelists Brandon Johnson, Yeni Silva-Renteria and Riley Williams Sr.
Johnson is a Former District 1 Wichita City Council Member, Silva-Renteria is the Executive Director of the International Rescue Committee, and Williams Sr. is a retired Wichita Police Department officer and an active member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement (NOBLE).
