Press Release
Donors were recognized for giving and service at the President’s Donor Dinner held on November 13 at Butler Community College. The event is held annually to show appreciation to donors who have reached a new giving level based on their prior fiscal year giving.
Butler’s new President Tamara Daniel, Ph.D., began the evening by introducing herself and highlighting nonprofit funding priorities at the college as well as the college’s upcoming Centennial celebration in 2026-2027.
2025 Hubbard Award of Excellence winner Kassie Davis of Augusta, Kan. gave the keynote speech. Davis was given the honor at commencement in May; a $15,000 transfer scholarship from the Foundation. Davis is a social work major at Friends University.
“Every time I step on campus, I recognize that I am a completely different person from the girl who last left,” Davis said. “Thank you for your belief in us [students]. Your support gives students like me the chance to dream bigger and achieve more than we ever thought possible.”
Davis was a member of the A Cappella choir and competed nationally with that group during her two years at Butler.
Associate Athletic Director Michaela Serrioz and Dr. Larry Abraham awarded the Dr. Larry and Judy Abraham Grizzlybacker of the Year Award to BG Products, Inc. Representatives from the organization attended to accept the award.
Hayley Hobbs, director of donor relations, led the recognition portion of the evening assisted by President Daniel, Tom Borrego, vice president of advancement, and John Blickenstaff ‘85, Foundation board president.
