This program is a partnership between select apprenticeship training organizations and Butler Community College. Apprentices can earn an Associate of Applied Science (15 credit hours-general education) while meeting the requirements needed to obtain their Journeyman’s card during their apprenticeship indenture.
Professional industry representatives serve on our local advisory board and seek to hire our construction graduates. Butler is also a proud member of the Wichita Area Builders Association and Professional Women in Building Council.

Butler’s Construction Technology program is officially accredited by The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), a non-profit organization working to standardize credentialing for the industry and revolutionize training for more than 70 craft areas.

This option is ideal for you if you're looking to begin a construction career as an entry level craft professional or a general laborer seeking to increase your technical skills. We also have students simply considering a generalized program.
Do you want to build residential homes with practiced form? Earn your masonry certificate in 2 semesters to become skilled with brick, concrete, stone and block. You learn fundamentals of concrete to pair with your skilled building flair. This option is ideal for you if you're looking to begin a construction career as an entry level craft professional or a general laborer seeking to increase your technical skills.
