We can't make summer last longer, but we can help you make the most of it. Take at least six credit hours during the Summer 2024 semester at Butler, and you’ll get three (3) FREE credit hours for the Fall 2024 semester. Online or on-campus, doesn’t matter. You do you!

What is the Summer+ Scholarship?

Enroll in 6 or more credit hours Summer 2024, receive 3 credit hours of tuition Fall 2024.
Summer+ scholarship amount for Fall 2024 is based on the In-State tuition rate for students that are not In-District. Student fees, course fees, registration fee, Technology Access Charge, and books are not included. Summer 2024 credit hours do not qualify if the tuition is paid by a waiver, tuition scholarship, or third party program.

I'm a new student to Butler - can I qualify for the Summer+ Scholarship?

Yes, the Summer+ Scholarship is available for all students.

Do students need to enroll in a minimum number of credit hours for Fall 2024 to receive the Summer+ Scholarship?

No, but if a student enrolls in less than 3 credit hours in Fall 2024 the Summer+ award will be based on the number of hours taken.

Do students still qualify for other scholarships, grants and loans in addition to the Summer+ Scholarship?

In addition to the tuition credit, students may still qualify for other types of aid, including scholarships, grants, work study and loans. Students will need to complete a Butler scholarship application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for other aid. Federal loans, Federal Work Study, Federal SEOG, and some scholarships may be limited based on the students Financial Aid Cost of Attendance and/or need. Out-of-State and International Students will receive a max scholarship based on in-state tuition. Summer 2024 credit hours do not qualify if the tuition is paid by a waiver, tuition scholarship, or third party program.

Is this scholarship transferable to other students or for other semesters?

No, the scholarship is not transferable and can only be applied to Fall 2024.

Does my summer bill have to have been paid in full to receive benefit?

No, but the student account needs to be in good standing to allow for Fall 2024 enrollment.

Is this scholarship refunded?

This scholarship can be refunded, but only when posted aid and payments exceed the account balance. Waivers, scholarships, and third party payments in Fall 2024 do not affect eligibility.

Are there deadlines I need to be aware of?

Yes. In order to receive the 3 hour scholarship students must enroll for Fall 2024 by August 31, 2024.
