The Man Who Came to Dinner

Sheridan Whiteside, noted acerbic radio personality, breaks his hip after slipping on the front steps of Ohio businessman Ernest Stanley’s home.  The self-centered Whiteside monopolizes the Stanley servants, populates the house with a menagerie of exotic animals, and holds court for his wide circle of friends.  When Maggie Cutler, Whiteside’s secretary, falls in love with local newspaperman Bert Jefferson, Whiteside summons the glamorous actress, Lorraine Sheldon, to win the affections of the young reporter.  Hilarity ensues in this madcap classic comedy that is for the entire family.

The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, the most famous of Christopher Marlowe’s plays, tells the story of the erudite Faust, a respected German scholar, who is highly successful yet dissatisfied with his life.  His displeasure leads him to make a pact with the devil.  Faustus exchanges his soul for unlimited knowledge and worldly pleasures.  First published in 1604, we are witness to a furious Lucifer, battling angels, and the Seven Deadly sins.  The play is a fine example of the glories of Elizabethan drama.

Alvin the Alligator and his best buddy, Franklin Osborne Barrett Digby Jr. IV, return to share the newest chapter in the story of their friendship.  Joined by other Digby Prep School student favorites, Franklin and Alvin learn the valuable lesson in what it means to be content with who you are.  Digby school’s favorite English teacher, Miss Chadwick, returns to guide the story with lessons taught in and out of the classroom!
