The City of El Dorado and the El Dorado Police Department are proud to announce the donation of state-of-the-art tasers to the Butler Community College Police Department. This contribution exemplifies the City's unwavering commitment to fostering collaborative partnerships within our communities and promoting the safety and well-being of all residents.

As part of the City's ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and support law enforcement agencies in their endeavors, the El Dorado Police Department has generously donated a series of tasers to the Butler Community College Police Department. These less than lethal devices will serve as valuable tools in the continued implementation of a community-oriented policing model, enabling officers to effectively respond to incidents while minimizing the potential for serious injury.

The City of El Dorado firmly believes in the power of collaboration and recognizes the importance of working hand in hand with community organizations to ensure the safety of its citizens. The partnership between the El Dorado Police Department and the Butler Community College Police Department is a testament to this commitment, as both agencies recognize the mutual benefit of supporting one another and sharing resources to create a safer environment for all.

Less than lethal measures play a vital role in a community-oriented policing model, where the emphasis is placed on building trust, fostering relationships, and proactively addressing public safety concerns. Tasers, as a less lethal alternative, provide law enforcement officers with an effective means to subdue individuals without resorting to deadly force. By adopting these tools, the Butler Community College Police Department reinforces its dedication to maintaining a safe campus environment while upholding the principles of community engagement and fairness.

Chief Mike Holton of the El Dorado Police Department stated, "We are proud to support our colleagues at Butler Community College in their commitment to public safety. This donation of tasers underscores our shared mission of fostering collaborative partnerships within our communities. By equipping officers with less than lethal options, we empower them to effectively handle challenging situations while promoting trust and understanding."

The City of El Dorado encourages other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to follow in their footsteps, promoting unity, cooperation, and a collective approach to enhancing public safety.
