Black Student Association to host Negro Baseball League documentary and lecture

Co-Producer Byron Motley brings his documentary "The League" to Butler to celebrate Black History Month.

In celebration of Black History Month, Butler's Black Student Association will sponsor a screening of the 2023 documentary "The League" with the film's producer Byron Motley on February 20, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Clifford/Stone Room located in the El Dorado Campus Welcome Center. Admission is free.

The screening will be preceded by a presentation from Motley, whose documentary tells the history of the Negro Baseball Leagues. The film was co-produced by Grammy-winning musician and Oscar-winning director Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson.

Byron Motley is an accomplished singer/songwriter, filmmaker, lecturer and author. Byron has worked on Broadway and performed and recorded with Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Barry Manilow, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Mary J. Blige and the Boston Pops Orchestra.
